The first phase of the cross city walking and biking trail is now open!  The first section was opened today by Wilmington leaders.  It is located on Eastwood Road near Rogersville and once it is complete the paved trail will be 10 miles long.  The first section that opened is two miles long and Wilmington residents have already been enjoying it.  To learn more about the new Wilmington Cross City Trail or Wilmington Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395.  

Wilmington is going digital on September 8th so it may be a great time to recycle any electronics that you will not be using anymore.  There will be an electronics recycling event on Saturday at the Walmart in Monkey Junction.  If you have any old TV’s, computers, microwaves or anything with a cord you can bring it to the event to be recycled.  The event runs from 9am until 3pm.  To learn more about this event or Wilmington Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395.

 It looks like the holiday weekend will be a fabulous one!  It is time to hit the beach and the forecast is perfect for outdoor activities.  Here is the line-up:

•  4TH ANNUAL MAYFAIRE “MUSIC ON THE TOWN” CONCERT SERIES, Friday from 6-9pm.  On the event lawn behind Linens ‘n Things and World Market at Mayfaire Town Center.  Free!
• CAROLINA BEACH FILM & FIREWORKS SERIES, Thursday & Sunday.  Thursday will be a fireworks display on the beach near the boardwalk with a band performing from 6-9pm before the fireworks.  Sundays are family-friendly movies at Carolina Beach Lake Park.  Both events are free and concessions will be available.
• DOWNTOWN SUNDOWN CONCERT SERIES, Friday from 5:30-10pm at Riverfront Park on Water Street in Historic Downtown Wilmington.  Free concert!
• YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, Wednesday through Sunday at Thalian Hall.
• THE BEARD OF AVON, Thursday through Sunday at Thalian Hall.
• LABOR DAY WEEKEND AT MOORES CREEK, Saturday and Sunday.  Visit the park to enjoy musket firing, blacksmithing and more.
