There are some great events and shows going on in Wilmington this weekend. Besides having fun and watching the Super Bowl take some time to check out Wilmington Real Estate. There are some great homes for sale and the market has been very active this week. Here are some of the events this weekend in Wilmington:
- THE COASTAL COHORTS, Thursday at Thalian Hall. Don Dixon, Bland Simpson & Jim Wann in concert, performing songs from their popular coastal show King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running as well as from their new CD release Wild Ponies.
- CHERRYHOLMES, Friday at 8pm. This incredible family of performers travel throughout the country 300 days a year, singing, dancing and playing the music that’s winning fans worldwide. The performance will be held at Thalian Hall in Historic Downtown Wilmington.
- NC JAZZ FESTIVAL, Thursday through Saturday at the Wilmington Hilton Riverside.
- RENDEZVOUS, Saturday at 6:30pm. Cocktail and silent auction begin at 6:30pm with dinner at 8pm followed by a live auction. The event will take place at the Cape Fear Museum.
- MODEL BUILDING 101: THE EXPERTS TELL ALL, Saturday from 1-4pm. Come to the Battleship North Carolina to hear members of the Carolina Maritime Model Society provide the inside scoop on building model ships. They will host two one-hour sessions in the Battleship auditorium followed by demonstrations in the visitor center.
- FAMILY FILM SERIES & NC AQUARIUM, Sunday at 3pm. Visitors to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher will have a chance to combine a day at the aquarium with a viewing of one of four classic children’s films every Saturday in February. Admission to the February Family Fun Film Festival is free with an aquarium ticket. Interactive dive presentations will be held at 10:30am and 2:30pm. The NC Aquarium is located at 900 Loggerhead Road in Kure Beach.
- WILMINGTON GARDEN SHOW, Saturday & Sunday from 10-5pm. The 15th annual Wilmington Garden Show will host over 40 vendors with unique gardening displays and items for sale. There will be speakers to share their expertise, talents and slides on everything from water wise gardening to great native plants, to floral design, to plants you should be using. The show will take place at the Cape Fear Community College Schwartz Center at 601 N. Front Street in Historic Downtown Wilmington.
