- REGINA CARTER QUINTET, Thursday at 8pm. Violinist Regina Carter is one of the freshest and most exciting performers in contemporary jazz and she will perform at UNCW’s Kenan Auditorium.
- AN EVENING AT THE KEYS WITH JERRY HARRISON, Thursday at 7:30pm. Jerry’s concert will showcase original material and popular songs. He is performing at Thalian Hall in Historic Downtown Wilmington.
- AN EVENING WITH FILMMAKER JOHN WATERS, Friday at 8pm. The Baltimore legend and wicked genius behind such classics as Hairspray, Pink Flamingos and Polyester brings his hilarity to Thalian Hall preceding the kickoff of the Cucalorus Film Festival.Â
- WINTER JAZZ AT CAPE FEAR MUSEUM, Friday from 6-8pm. Bring friends and food for an evening of jazz at the Cape Fear Museum. The Bob Russell Trio will kick off this year’s series at 6pm.Â
- PLEASURE ISLAND PEDAL, Saturday at 8:45am. Join other bicyclists for a day of riding. Meet at the Carolina Beach State Park Visitor’s Center and ride to the Fort Fisher Ferry Terminal and back. Food, refreshments and prizes will be provided.
- BRITS AND BATTLESHIP CAR SHOW, Saturday at 9am. Join the British Motor Club of the Cape Fear for their annual car show at the USS Battleship North Carolina. Over 200 cars are expected including the British section as well as German, Japanese, replicas and American automobiles. All proceeds benefit the Battleship Preservation Fund.Â
- CAPE FEAR FAIR & EXPO continues through Saturday, November 3rd. The fair serves New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. The Fair is located at the Wilmington International Airport.
- WILMINGTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, Saturday at 8pm. The Wilmington Symphony will be held at UNCW’s Kenan Auditorium.
- 2ND NATIONAL WOMEN IN BLUES FESTIVAL, Friday & Saturday at the Water Street Parking Deck in Historic Downtown Wilmington.Â
- FESTIVAL LATINO: A CULTURAL CELEBRATION, Saturday at Hugh MacRae Park. Latin dancing and lessons, food, a kid’s fiesta and the great Mexican Hat Race will be some of the activities in this year’s festival.Â
- WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH SEA KAYAK RACE, 11-1pm at the Blockade Runner Dock. The race will benefit the NC Coastal Land Trust.
- 8TH ANNUAL ST. MARK HOLIDAY ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR, Saturday from 10-4pm. Santa Claus will also be on hand!
- ST. STAN’S POLISH FESTIVAL, Saturday from 11-5pm. There will be traditional Polish cuisine, entertainment, children’s games, raffles, live & silent auctions, craft sale, dancing, music and lots of fun! St. Stanislaus Catholic Church is located on Castle Hayne Road in Castle Hayne.
- FULL GALLOP, Wednesday through Sunday at Thalian Hall Studio Theatre. This play is based on the life of Diana Vreeland.
- 5TH ANNUAL SOUTHERN COASTAL BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL, Saturday & Sunday in Kure Beach at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Area.Â
- FROM MORNING TO NIGHT: DOMESTIC SERVICE IN THE GILDED AGE SOUTH. The exhibit runs through Sunday at the Wrightsville Beach Museum.Â
- CAPE FEAR KITE FESTIVAL, Saturday & Sunday from 10-5pm. Activities include kid’s kite-making class, stunt kite lessons, stunt kite demonstrations, large show kite displays and a kite auction. The Kite Festival will take place at the Shell Island Resort at Wrightsville Beach.
