July was one of two months since January that the Wilmington MLS has had a decline in listing inventory. That is great news but the other great news is that Wilmington’s average sales price continues to remain ahead of 2006 which is going against national trends. The average year to date sales price is 2.7% ahead of 2006 this time last year. While the number of sold units is down from previous years, July did see an increase from previous months. There is a new skate part in the works for New Hanover County. A young Wrightsville Beach resident, Fisher Hardee, presented a power-point presentation to the Board of Alderman at Wrightsville Beach along with a petition of 800 signatures of people who support the idea of a skate park. Wrightsville Beach leaders liked the idea and plan to add the park to the five year parks and recreation plan. The plan also includes a bike path, a new outdoor ampitheater, a basketball court and lights at the tennis courts.
