This weekend there are a lot of homes to tour but these are some of the other events going on:
- MAYFAIRE MUSIC ON THE TOWN, Friday at 6pm. Enjoy free music on the lawn behind Linens n’ Things. The band will be Scearch & Ketner, a Carribean Pirate Rock band. Pets and coolers are welcome. Mayfaire Town Center is located on Military Cutoff across from Landfall.
- AIRLIE CONCERT SERIES, Friday from 6-8pm. Jazz concert with “The Imposters”.
- 22ND ANNUAL BEACH MUSIC FESTIVAL, Saturday in Carolina Beach. Grab your shagging shoes and make your way to Carolina Beach for the 2007 Beach Music Festival which will be held on the Ocean Front Beach Stage on Harper Ave. & Cape Fear Boulevard. If you aren’t a dancer settle down in your beach chair to enjoy watching the dancers and listening to the bands.
- HAMMERHEADS SOCCER GAME, Saturday at 7:30. Tonight the Hammerheads play the Cinncinati Kings.
- 23RD ANNUAL LOBSTER FEST, Saturday from 12-5pm. Church of the Servant presents their 23rd Annual Lobster Fest. Lobster, cole slaw, corn on the cob and rolls will be served. The church is located on 4925 Oriole Drive in Wilmington.
- FLAMENCO CAFE XV, Saturday from 7-10pm. Features Paco Strickland & Flying Flamenco Brothers, Fire Dancers d’ Cape Fear, The Juggling Gypsies and Fire Eaters, Dancers & Drummers. There will be endless Paella and Paco’s wicked Sangria. Catered by Lazeeza’s Mediterranean Grill. The event will benefit Cucalorus Film Foundation and will take place at Jengo’s Playhouse at 815 Princess Street.
- A CELEBRATION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC, Sunday at 4 pm. To commemorate and celebrate the contributions of African American music during Black Music Month. The Chestnut Street Presbyterian Church will host the evening which will be filled with history as well as spiritual music. The church is located at 714 Chestnut Street in Wilmington.
- CIRQUE DE BERSERQUE, Friday through Sunday at 7pm. A show specially arranged for high school performers. This is a unique and original show featuring monologue, skits, performance art and music that will be held at Thalian Hall Studio Theatre in Historic Downtown Wilmington.
- SHAKESPEARE ON THE GREEN FESTIVAL, Friday through Sunday at 8pm. Arrive early and picnic or enjoy a snack from the concession stand. Greenfield Lake Ampitheater is located at 1941 Ampitheater Drive.
- AIRLIE ECO TOUR, Sunday from 9-11am. The tour themed “A Creek Comes Alive” will guide paddlers through Bradley Creek and focuses on flora, fauna and ecosystem of Bradley Creek along with discussions concerning environmental issues. The tour departs from Airlie Gardens.
