Wilmington NC, Landfall Tradition Golf Tournament

10.30.06

Wilmington’s Country Club of Landfall hosted 24 top men’s and women’s collegiate golf teams (including our own UNCW) this past weekend for the Fifth Annual Landfall Tradition Golf Tournament. Landfall is a gated community just over the draw bridge from Wrightsville Beach.  Tulsa won the men’s tournament and Virginia claimed the women’s title.  Two students from Tulsa tied for the individual men’s title and the woman’s crown was won by a Michigan State Spartan (my alma mater, Go Spartans!).  To learn more about Wilmington area golf or real estate contact me at 910-431-9395.

Wilmington NC Real Estate, Topsail Beach

10.29.06

I read an interesting article in the Star News today that talked about the 50 acres of land on the southern tip of Topsail Beach that the NC Coastal Land Trust is trying to protect.  They have requested $4.68 million from the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund to help with the $15 million purchase price.  The decision to grant the money for the land, also know as “The Point”, will be made at the Clean Water meeting in Raleigh, November 12-13.  Topsail Beach is located approximately 30 miles north of Wilmington.  To learn more about this topic or Topsail Beach Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395.

Wilmington NC Boat Show

10.28.06

I passed by Mayfaire Town Center on the way home from working at Carolina Beach today and noticed they were having a boat show. It is going on today and tomorrow and there were quite a few boats to look at. Fall is a great time for boating on the Cape Fear River, the Intra coastal Waterway or on the Atlantic Ocean. Wilmington NC Named in “Top Ten Cities to Buy Real Estate”

10.27.06

CNN named the “Top Ten cities to Buy Real Estate Now” and Wilmington was ranked #7! Great news for our area and for Wilmington Real Estate. The article mentioned that the top ten cities offered terrific opportunities for those who have the patience to buy and hold.

Who wouldn’t want mild weather, natural beauty, golf, mild weather and a low cost of living as the article stated? Wilmington is a wonderful area to live or to have a second home. Wilmington also offers a seaport, an international airport, UNC campus, movie studios that have filmed 180 features in the last 2 decades while maintaining the historic ambiance. The projected gain in home prices for a five year period in Wilmington is 37%.
