Here are a few photos from the Cape Fear Kite Festival at Wrightsville Beach yesterday.  It was a gorgeous day to walk on the beach and look at all of the awesome kites!  More than 100 kite fliers come from all over the United States to participate.  There were all kinds of kites including sports kites, small kites and the big kites.  The Cape Fear Kite Festival is already one of the most popular kite festivals.  It is still going on today from 10-4:30 pm.  To learn more about the Cape Fear Kite Festival or Wilmington Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395 or visit my website at www.livingbythecoast.com.

There is good news for Wilmington area commuters.  According to DOT engineers the bridge repairs on our area bridges are running according to schedule.  The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge is about 80% complete.  According to DOT there have been fewer traffic delays than expected.  The repairs are already completed on the Isabel Holmes Bridge.  The next two bridges to be repaired are at Wrightsville Beach and that work will be completed on August 4th.  To learn more about the Wilmington area or Wilmington Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395.

If you have ever visited Wrightsville Beach chances are that you have walked on or have seen our local landmark, Johnny Mercer’s Pier.  It has often been named the best pier in North Carolina.  In 1996 the old wooden pier was destroyed in Hurricane Fran in 2001 the new cement pier was built.  I watched it day by day as I walked the beach and soon we had a beautiful pier that looks like it will last forever.  Whether it’s fishing, curiousity or a break from the beach Johnny Mercer’s is a great place to take a break.  To learn more about Wrightsville Beach or Wrightsville Beach Real Estate contact me at 910-431-9395.
