After many years of talk and speculation the second bridge to Oak Island has been approved. The NC Board of Transportation approved the project at a cost of more than $36 million. The bridge will connect Hwy 211 at Midway Road to Middleton Avenue on Oak Island. Construction is planned to start in August.
