Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Real Estate recently opened a  new office in Shallotte.  The office will have 10 agents and one support staff.  I work at our office in Leland and there was a big need for Coldwell Banker in that part of Brunswick County.

This is Sea Coast Realty’s tenth office in the region.  Our company has more than 325 sales associates and staff in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender and Onslow counties.

On October 10th Brunswick Forest will host the First Bank Oktoberfest 15K & 5K.  Both races will cover the Duathlon 5K course and the 15K will also travel over a boardwalk across a nature area, over a couple of more bridges and loop a couple of small lakes.  A 15K walk will start 30 minutes before the runs and is on the same route as the 15K run.  There will be 3-deep, 5 year age group awards, Open & Masters winner awards, free beer after the race (of course) and good chow and nice awards.  The race benefits the Lower Cape Fear Hospice’s Closer to Home campaign to raise money to build a hospice center in Brunswick County.  Brunswick Forest is located off of Hwy 17 in Leland, just a few minutes from Historic Downtown Wilmington.  To learn more about these races or Wilmington area real estate contact me at 910-431-9395 or visit my website at www.livingbythecoast.com.

The first Duathlon at Brunswick Forest was held on May 23^rd and it was a huge success!  What is a duathlon you ask?  This duathlon included biking and running.  This particular race started with a 5k run, followed by a 12 mile bike ride and finished with a 2 mile run.  The race benefited Step up for Soldiers and the Leukemia Society.  For its inaugural race, there were 179 participants which included 20 teams.  Participants were from all over NC and other states included Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina.   The winner was a 38 year old male from Camp Lejeune who finished the race in 1 hour and 53 seconds!  Ed Fore, the race organizer, confirmed that Brunswick Forest will host another Duathlon next May with the exact date to be determined.  The participants were very enthusiastic about the course and gave Brunswick Forest great reviews!  To learn more about Brunswick Forest or Brunswick Forest real estate contact me at 910-431-9395 or visit my website at www.livingbythecoast.com.
