The Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival will be held this weekend, October 11th and 12th. The Pleasure Island website describes the festival as follows: Now entering its 15th year, there will be nationally recognized Blues and Jazz performers, coastal cuisine, natural beauty and salt air that will transport you into another dimension…and into a world where your cares and stresses are left behind. It’s a world where the weather is warmer, the people are friendlier, the food is tastier, and the music is “blue-sier”. This two-day festival takes place along the scenic Cape Fear River at the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreational Area in Kure Beach. There will be crafts, music, and fine wine tasting. Children will stay entertained for hours as they enjoy magicians, juggling acts, clowns and much more in the Kidz Zone. If you are heading to Kure Beach this weekend you will need to leave the pooch at home. Kure Beach officials have voted to keep the “no dog policy” intact. Many Kure Beach residents have approached the Town Council asking them to let them have leashed dogs on the beach during the summer months. Leashed dogs will be allowed back on the beach in October. Last week I hosted an open house at Ocean Palms in Carolina Beach. Carolina Beach is located over the bridge just south of Wilmington on Pleasure Island. After the open house, another agent and I drove south to Kure Beach and to the north end of Carolina Beach to look for ocean front property for a client. If you are looking for ocean front or beach property, Carolina Beach is a great place to buy right now, there are quite a few lots available and the prices are great.
