The Butterball Turkey Talk-line is ready to help so if you are stressing about cooking your turkey for Thanksgiving you can rest easy! The talk-line receives many calls but one of the most common is “how to thaw a turkey”. This is the answer from Marty Vanness at the Butterball Turkey Talk-line that was published in the Wilmington Star News:
“We want to make sure that they keep the turkey cold at all times, so either thaw in the refrigerator or in a sink of cold water. Then once it’s thawed, put it back in the refrigerator if you used the cold water method. But that’s a real popular question. It’s really important to make sure it’s thawed, because then it will cook properly.”
If you have turkey questions, call the Turkey Talk-line at 800-Butterball. I am not in charge of Thanksgiving dinner but if I was, this number would certainly come in handy! There is also more information on their website at www.butterball.com.
